PSG’s backup plan, a wage cut & Real Madrid stars talking – Kylian Mbappé future latest

A fresh insight into the ongoing saga surrounding the future of Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé has this afternoon been provided.

The info comes courtesy of transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has confirmed the news long beginning to mount in the media – that Mbappé is close to signing for Real Madrid.

‘Confidence’ is said to be abound behind the scenes in Spain’s capital that a deal will soon be struck with the French international, over the terms of a free agent summer transfer.

The contract agreement in question will feature a significant reduction in the wage package offered to Mbappé back in 2022, as well as that on the table in Paris.

The 25-year-old, though, appears ready to sacrifice financially, to at long last make his Bernabéu dream come true.

So intense is the chatter beginning to get behind the scenes in Madrid, in fact, that it has started to trickle down to the dressing room.

This comes amid further confirmation that Carlo Ancelotti’s players are now discussing their soon-to-be teammate ‘every day’:

“All the players are talking, every day, about Kylian Mbappé,” Romano adds.

“The feeling that everyone has is that the forward, international for France, is getting closer to signing for the club – Real Madrid.”

Turning attentions towards those set to bid a painful farewell to their talismanic attacker, the Paris Saint-Germain brass are already understood to be putting in place firm plans to replace Mbappé.

PSG “already has prepared the operation that will be carried out [to replace him] if, in the end, Mbappé ends up leaving the French entity.”

Though the identity of the Ligue 1 champions’ chief target has not yet been revealed, AC Milan wide-man Rafael Leão is viewed as the likeliest candidate as things stand.
