PSG star admits Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappé’s future is dressing room taboo

Paris Saint-Germain defender Lucas Hernández has this evening provided an insight into the current mindset in the club’s dressing room, when it comes to teammate Kylian Mbappé’s future.

The subject of frontman Mbappé’s plans beyond the summer has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in a major way over the course of the last week.

This comes after word stemming from France confirmed that the 25-year-old has come to the definitive decision not to renew his expiring contract at the Parc des Princes.

Instead, Mbappé intends to put pen to paper on terms with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Distance remains between the two parties when it comes to the financial terms of the deal in question, but confidence is abound that an agreement will soon be struck.

So, where does this leave PSG?

The Ligue 1 heavyweights will now be forced to see out the remainder of the campaign in the knowledge that the club’s talismanic attacker already has one eye on matters in Spain’s capital.

Speaking in an interview with RTL, as cited by Footmercato, on Tuesday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his teammate’s predicted exit was put to the aforementioned Lucas Hernández.

And, drawn specifically on its impact in the dressing room, Hernández went on to admit that Mbappé’s future has long been deemed something of a taboo topic of discussion:

“We try not to talk about that subject,” the stopper began. “We don’t talk about it. We don’t want to annoy him too much. It’s up to him to make the best decision,” Hernández concluded.
