A fresh insight into the fallout stemming from Kylian Mbappé’s imminent move to Spain with Real Madrid has been provided this afternoon.
The info comes courtesy of French outlet L’Equipe, who point towards the powers that be at Paris Saint-Germain as having not taken the decision of their talismanic frontman to depart at all well.
Mbappé, for his part, of course informed the board at the Parc des Princes of his intention not to renew his expiring contract with the club several weeks ago.
As much comes with the France international having set his sights firmly on a move to the aforementioned Real Madrid.
Negotiations between the parties, in turn, have long been kicked into gear, with an official announcement regarding an agreement between Mbappé and the La Liga table-toppers expected to be forthcoming at any moment.
The last week, meanwhile, has seen it hinted that the coaching staff at PSG have been left far from impressed with the behaviour of their prolific winger, with Mbappé having been hooked prematurely in each of his side’s last two league outings.
And such unrest appears to extend to the boardroom, too…
As per a report from the aforementioned L’Equipe, Nasser Al-Khelaifi and his team of directors have been left feeling nothing short of ‘betrayed’ by their long-time star performer:
“Usually when they want something, they get it. Mbappé’s refusal is experienced as an affront, a betrayal,” it is confirmed.
