Talks between FC Barcelona and Marcos Alonso are at an advanced stage, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Alonso has already expressed his intention to return to Spain, but the price tag lies as the obstacle. Barcelona are reportedly not interested in paying a big fee as Alonso will have just one year remaining in his contract after the current season finishes.
Barcelona have also put a two-year deal with the option of a third on the table for Alonso’s teammate, Chelsea captain César Azpilicueta. When inquired about the reality of a transfer, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel said:
“I can understand these thoughts, that maybe a cycle is at its end. He’s a legend, we’re still in the process to decide his future.”
