LOSC Lille president Olivier Létang has this week spoken out on the future of star striker Jonathan David.
This comes as the 24-year-old continues to inch ever closer to a departure from The Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
The name of prolific frontman David has of course dominated the headlines across the continent over recent weeks.
As much comes as leading clubs throughout Europe set their sights on the signature of the Canadian international, ahead of the expiration of his contract terms with Lille in the summer of 2025.
La Liga giants Barcelona, for one, are known to be keeping a close eye on David’s situation, after the attacker this week reiterated his hopes of one day lining out in the colours of the Blaugrana.
Speaking during an interview with AfterRMC on Wednesday evening, it therefore came as little surprise when the name of his side’s leading goalscorer was put to the aforementioned Olivier Létang.
And, in his response, Lille’s president went on to provide two significant insights.
First: “Jonathan David will not leave in January”. And 2nd: “We made a new contract proposal and it’s up to Jonathan now”
