Premier League club ‘insisted’ on signing Real Madrid star Endrick in January

Real Madrid starlet Endrick received strong transfer interest from Premier League outfit West Ham United during the winter window.

That’s according to Marca, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.

Frontman Endrick has for his part endured something of a hit-and-miss debut campaign in Spain’s capital.

Since arriving from Palmeiras last summer, the Brazilian international has not been afforded a single La Liga start by boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Endrick has nevertheless showcased flashes of his unquestionable brilliance, though, on his way to four goals across all competitions, including a crucial recent brace against Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey.

Reports, in turn, inevitably spread during the January transfer window that the 18-year-old could be farmed out on loan to secure more regular minutes.

And, as alluded to above, one club to have expressed a keen interest in such a deal were West Ham United.

As per a report from Marca, the Irons made contact with their counterparts at the Santiago Bernabéu, ‘insistent’ on bringing Endrick in on loan through the summer.

Such requests fell on deaf ears, however, as club and player alike made clear that they had no intention of parting ways.
