The Netherlands begin their World Cup campaign against Senegal on Monday. In Sunday’s Group A opener, Ecuador beat host nation Qatar 2-0 thanks to a brace from Enner Valencia.
The three-time World Cup runners-up missed out on Russia four years ago and are expected to advance to at least the last 16 in Qatar. Cody Gakpo (PSV) could be key for them at this tournament.
According to Marca, Dutch coach Louis van Gaal could select the following starting XI for their Group A fixture:
Pasveer – Dumfries, Aké, Van Dijk, Timber, Blind – De Jong, Berghuis – Bergwijn, Gakpo, Janssen.
Kickoff between Senegal and the Netherlands gets underway at 7pm (local time in Qatar).
