Predicted Belgium XI vs Canada

Belgium take on Canada in Group F on Wednesday.

De Bruyne vs Davies

Belgium, like Manchester City, play to the rhythm of Kevin De Bruyne. One of the biggest stars of the tournament, he will be aiming to inspire his side to the latter stages of the tournament. Meanwhile, for Canada, Alphonso Davies is their key player. The Bayern Munich left-back will be played in a more advanced position for his country and at just 22, he is the star of the show alongside Lille’s Jonathan David.

Canada

Canada come into the tournament as one of the great unknowns. They have been waiting for four decades and have managed to put together a young and talented team. They are managed by John Herdman, who was in charge of the women’s national team in two World Cups and is now making his debut with the men’s team. Canada are looking to cause an upset and progress to the last 16.

Possible Belgium XI

Eden Hazard has only played six games in all competitions for Real Madrid this season but is expected to get the nod in attack.

Marca predict the following Belgium XI:

Courtois – Debast, Alderweireld, Vertonghen – Meunier, Witsel, Tielemans, Carrasco – Batshuayi, De Bruyne, Hazard.

Kickoff gets underway at 8pm CET on Wednesday.
