Barcelona will host Viktoria Plzeň this evening in the first round of the Champions League group stages. The game is set to kick off at 9pm local time.
The Blaugrana are hoping to progress from the group stages, which they failed to do so last season.
Despite being the weakest side in the group, it would be unwise to underestimate Viktoria Plzeň. They are yet to be beaten in the Czech first division and they had a solid qualifying campaign for the Champions League this season. Xavi is not expected to take chances and will most likely field a strong starting XI. Nonetheless, he may still choose to rotate his team from last weekend as they will play Cádiz this coming Saturday as well.
Marca predict that Barcelona will start with the following XI against Viktoria Plzeň: Marc-André ter Stegen – Sergi Roberto, Andreas Christensen, Jules Koundé, Jordi Alba – Franck Kessié, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri – Ousmane Dembélé, Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres.
