Thibaut Courtois: 8 – Dealt calmly with every danger, making a particularly decisive save to deny Nkunku in the first half.

Dani Carvajal: 7 – Solid defensive performance from the right-back in the second half.

Antonio Rüdiger: 7 – Good game defensively and when building out from the back. Made a crucial intervention on Werner in the second half.

Nacho: 7 – Led the side and repelled every threat.

David Alaba: 5.5 – Consistent outlet on the overlap but failed to make any productive delivery.

Aurélien Tchouaméni: 7 – Another accomplished display at the base of midfield. Defensively excellent.

Eduardo Camavinga: 5 – Uninspiring performance as a starter yet again.

Luka Modrić: 6.5 – Whilst not at his creative best, put in the work rate defensively and in the press.

Fede Valverde: 8.5 – An energetic presence throughout the game, be it on the flank or in central midfield. Scored the winner with a superb finish on his weaker foot.

Rodrygo: 5 – Tried to combine and create in tandem with Vinícius but could not make a noteworthy contribution.

Vinícius Jr: 7 – Ever-persistent on the left flank, ultimately creating the opportunity that led to Valverde’s goal.

SUBSTITUTES:

Marco Asensio: 7.5 – His effort was evident from the moment he entered the pitch, tracking back on occasion too. Scored with a brilliant finish from the edge of the box.

Toni Kroos: 6.5 – Assisted Asensio’s goal with a clever, powerful lay-off.
