Xavi’s side were far more impressive against Bayern Munich this time around in the Champions League, dominating the match in the first half. Things fell apart after two goals by the German side in the space of five minutes, condemning Barça to their first defeat of the season.
Marc-André Ter Stegen: 5.5 – Could’ve done better to collect the corner that led to the first goal.
Jules Koundé: 7 – Yet again, playing at right-back came naturally to the Frenchman.
Ronald Araújo: 6 – Looked calm in possession but could not do anything to prevent the goals.
Andreas Christensen: 6 – Good in the first half, helping move the ball out from the back. Shrugged off effortlessly by Leroy Sané enroute to the second goal and subbed off for Éric Garcia.
Marcos Alonso: 5.5 – Lost his marker as Lucas Hernandez headed in the opener.
Sergio Busquets: 6 – Ticked all the boxes under pressure and in transition in the first half. Failed to influence the midfield after Leon Goretzka’s introduction.
Gavi: 8 – Exceptional in the first half, a fundamental piece in the superb Barça press.
Pedri: 9 – Continues to defy expectations, influencing the play every time he got on the ball. Had a shot saved by Neuer in the first half. Hit the post in the second half after a brilliant sequence of play.
Raphinha: 5.5 – Failed to be effective upfont and hauled off at the hour mark.
Robert Lewandowski: 5.5 – Linked up very well but missed a couple of very good chances inside the box.
