PLAYER RATINGS | Al Ahly 1-4 Real Madrid

The Real Madrid forward line displayed nerves of steel to guide Los Blancos to the FIFA Club World Cup Final, with an ultimately flattering 4-1 scoreline over Egyptian side Al Ahly.

REAL MADRID RATINGS:

Andriy Lunin: 6 – Made a top-notch save in the first-half, and looked sharp throughout in a rare start.

Nacho Fernández: 7 – Excellent defensively, making a few timely interventions.

Antonio Rüdiger: 5 – A more composed outing; tidy in possession and in defense.

David Alaba: 6 – Crisp playing out from the back, whilst also totalling a game-high six clearances.

Eduardo Camavinga: 5 – A proper mixed bag. Allowed Vinícius more freedom in attack with their link-up, but left gaps behind far too often for Al Ahly to exploit. Conceded a clumsy penalty.

Aurélien Tchouaméni: 5 – A regulation 90 minutes for the Frenchman as he eases back into action.

Toni Kroos: 6 – Put in a good shift defensively, operating in large parts as part of a double pivot with Tchouaméni. Reliable on the ball, as always.

Luka Modrić: 5 – Generally occupied a role in front of his midfield partners, operating as a de-facto No. 10. Dropped deep on occasion to help in build-up.

Federico Valverde: 6 – Seemed to lack direction in the first half, but made up for it with an immaculately composed finish later on.

Rodrygo: 8 – A late goal was only the icing on the cake of a brilliant display. Immense in his press and vibrant in link-up with Vini and co. Rodrygo shone as the focal point of attack.

Vinícius Jr: 7 – His pace was the biggest nuisance for the Al Ahly backline the entire evening. Put Real Madrid in front with a superb dink.

SUBSTITUTES:

Dani Ceballos: 5 – Assisted Rodrygo’s goal with some lovely combination play.

Sergio Arribas: 5 – Was on the pitch a matter of seconds before he put the game to bed by adding a fourth in the last minute of stoppage time.

Álvaro Odriozola: n/a

Mariano Díaz: n/a
