Two players to have shared time on the books of La Liga giants Barcelona late this week reunited at club level. This comes after Tommy Marqués’ transfer to Primeira Liga outfit SC Braga was made official.
Midfielder Tommy had for his part been linked with a potential move away from Catalunya’s capital throughout the summer to date.
Aware of the uphill task facing him in carving out regular minutes in Hansi Flick’s talent-packed engine room setup, the 19-year-old made the call to move on in search of regular first-team football.
The aformentioned Braga, on the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park, therefore quickly made their interest in his signature known. And after several weeks of back-and-forth negotiations, the Primeira Liga side on Friday finally landed their man:
Waiting for Tommy in his new home was an altogether familiar face, in the form of Pau Víctor. Frontman Víctor also swapped Barcelona for Portugal last summer, since enjoying a productive time of things in the colours of Braga.
After landing their chief midfield target, the Arsenalistas therefore brought the former Blaugrana pair back together, for a wholesome photo:
