La Liga giants Barcelona have been afforded a helping hand in their ongoing search for a new head coach by none other than ex-Blaugrana boss Pep Guardiola.
That’s according to Esport 3, who have on Thursday provided a fresh insight into ongoings in the Barcelona boardroom.
The Catalan outlet point towards Barca’s shortlist of managerial targets as having been whittled down to just two names.
The tacticians in question? Roberto De Zerbi, and Hansi Flick.
Both De Zerbi and Flick have long been tipped as potential replacements for the outbound Xavi on the Barca bench, with the former understood to be a favourite of Sporting Director Deco.
Amid his campaign for the instillation of a German in the dugout at Camp Nou, though, Blaugrana president Joan Laporta is keen on the services of the out-of-work Flick.
And, as alluded to above, this week, the brass in Catalunya have been provided with an outside perspective, by one of world football’s most renowned tacticians.
As per the aforementioned Esport 3, Manchester City headmaster Pep Guardiola has been in contact with Joan Laporta, to push the name of the manager whom he feels is most suited to take up the reins at his former club.
The man in question? Brighton & Hove Albion mastermind De Zerbi.
