The Barcelona midfielder picked up a hamstring injury before half-time in the team’s defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night. Frenkie de Jong replaced the Spain international at the break as the Blaugrana struggled against the Bundesliga club.
A left hamstring injury could see him out for between six to eight weeks. Barcelona have eight games remaining this season, with the objective now to get a top-four spot to guarantee a place in the Champions League next season.
