Pedri misses out as Hansi Flick tests new Barcelona XI ahead of Las Palmas clash

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick tested an altered XI during the club’s latest training session on Friday.

That’s according to Sergi Capdevila of Diario Sport, who has provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Barcelona are of course currently in the midst of final preparations for a return to action on Saturday night.

Fresh off learning their fate for the knockout rounds of the Champions League – the Catalans will face Benfica – Hansi Flick’s troops will make the trip to Gran Canaria, for a league meeting with Las Palmas.

The Blaugrana will head into the matchup with sights on extending their advantage atop the La Liga table, after reclaiming as much last weekend.

And as alluded to above, in preparations for Saturday’s action, Barca this afternoon tested out something of a new-look XI.

The line-up in question featured none of Pau Cubarsí, Pedri, Gavi or Dani Olmo.

Instead, taking their respective places in the XI were the likes of Ronald Araújo, Marc Casadó and Fermín López, for a team made up as follows:

Szczęsny, Koundé, Araújo, Iñigo, Balde, Casadó, Fermín, De Jong, Raphinha, Lamine and Lewandowski
