An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Pedri has come to the fore late this evening.
News of midfielder Pedri picking up an injury was first revealed early this morning.
After the youngster was spotted departing team training prematurely, a series of reports quickly followed, confirming that this had come as a result of a fresh fitness concern.
Muscle fatigue was highlighted as the most likely culprit, with Pedri yet to regain full fitness, on the back of a series of problems across the season to date.
The hope, in turn, was that he would miss just a solitary fixture, this weekend’s La Liga meeting with basement dwellers Almeria.
If the latest word doing the rounds since is anything to go by, however, then Xavi could in fact be forced to make do without Pedri’s services for quite a bit longer.
As per a report from Esport 3, the 21-year-old is expected to miss a minimum of around three weeks.
This therefore means he will be unavailable to face Almeria, Club América (friendly), Las Palmas, and possibly UD Barbastro (Copa del Rey).
Not only that, but Pedri’s participation in Barcelona’s Spanish Super Cup semi-final meeting with Osasuna has also been thrown into doubt.
