Paul Pogba hails Barcelona starlet: ‘He’s the best young player in the world’

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has on Thursday come in for some fresh praise, on this occasion on the part of Paul Pogba.

This, of course, comes as Lamine continues to make a name for himself as a potentially generational talent.

After a summer which saw him act as a leading protagonist in Spain marching all the way to glory at Euro 2024, the winger, still just 17, has gone on to take his exploits with Barcelona to a new level, too.

Across 16 appearances in all competitions to date this season, Lamine has directly contributed to 14 goals.

And one player who has been left in awe of the attacker’s talents, as alluded to above, comes in the form of Paul Pogba.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, midfielder Pogba, himself once one of the standout young players in football, was drawn on Lamine’s explosion onto the world stage.

And the Frenchman was full of praise in his response, explaining:

“Lamine Yamal is cold. He’s the best young player in the world. Can you imagine if he wins the Champions League this year? He has been killing it, during the Euros and even since the start of this season. So, he’s nice, cold.”
