‘Outrageous’ – Barcelona starlet hailed by new Spain teammate

An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Monday come in for some altogether high praise.

The player in question? Fermín López.

Youngster Fermín, for his part, last week linked up with the Spanish national team squad for the very first time.

As much comes after a stellar close to the campaign on the books of the aforementioned Barcelona saw the 21-year-old afforded a call-up for Euro 2024.

A whole host of La Roja’s leading stars, in turn, have been afforded a first up-close-and-personal look at Fermín’s talents, in training.

And, safe to say, one such player has been left altogether impressed…

Speaking to the media on Monday, La Roja captain Álvaro Morata was drawn on his first impressions of his new international teammate.

And, in quotes gathered by Mundo Deportivo, Morata could not help but wax lyrical, adamant that Fermín has a ‘great future’ ahead of him with Spain:

“Yesterday I congratulated him because we had a complicated exercise, only playing with first touch and he didn’t miss a single pass. And it was only his second training session. It’s outrageous how prepared these guys come. Then he fights, he scratches and scores goals. He can help us a lot and has a great future in the national team.”
