Ousmane Dembélé has told Barcelona manager Xavi that he wants to sign a new deal with the club, according to Catalan daily Sport.
Talks between the player’s agent and the club have been back and forth for several months, with Barcelona reportedly willing to cash in on the Frenchman this month if a reasonable offer came in.
It now appears that the winger wants to commit to the Catalan outfit despite reports of a possible January move.
The situation remains unresolved and further talks between Barça representatives and the player’s agent are expected tomorrow. His current deal runs until 30 June 2022.
