Osasuna star Bryan Zaragoza on Saturday made use of the opportunity to pay tribute to a leading member of the attacking ranks at Real Madrid.
This came en route to his side’s headline-grabbing downing of table-topping Barcelona.
Osasuna put Hansi Flick’s Barca to the sword by four goals to two at El Sadar late last night, with the on-loan Zaragoza amongst the goalscorers.
What may have gone somewhat unnoticed, though, was the Bayern Munich man’s ensuing celebration.
After wheeling away towards the home supporters at El Sadar, Zaragoza made use of a gesture which has become altogether familiar to fans of Spanish football – a shrug.
This is a celebration which has long been made famous by Real Madrid star Brahim Díaz, who utilises the same stance after finding the net for Los Blancos.
And, according to El Chiringuito TV, Zaragoza’s celebration marked a direct tribute to Brahim, with the pair having grown up in the same neighbourhood, in Malaga.
