La Liga outfit Osasuna have on Thursday announced some altogether positive news on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Rubén García has put pen to paper on fresh terms with the club.
Attack-minded midfielder García has continued to play a central role in Osasuna’s ranks across to season to date, to the tune of three goals and two assists across 30 La Liga appearances.
A beloved figure amongst the Rojillos faithful owing to his role in both the club’s promotion and five-year stay in Spain’s top-flight, those behind the scenes at El Sadar in turn recently moved to tie García down to a new deal.
And, this week, such discussions between the parties have borne fruit.
As per an official announcement across Osasuna’s website and social media platforms, the 30-year-old has inked a new contract, through the summer of 2026.
The agreement also features an option for a further year, as well as a release clause set at €8 million:
‘Club Atlético Osasuna has reached an agreement with Rubén García to extend the relationship until 2026, with the option of extending the contractual relationship until June 30, 2027. In this way, the footballer will continue in the red entity, at least, two more courses; extending his career at the club to an eighth season.’
