Osasuna star returns to training after 6-month absence

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Osasuna has on Wednesday secured a long-awaited return to training.

The player in question? Kike Barja.

Winger Kike, for his part, has been sidelined since all the way back in March of this year, after suffering an ACL tear in his left knee during a La Liga clash with Deportivo Alavés.

Recent weeks had seen the 27-year-old step up his recovery, with a view to an incoming return to the pitch.

And, as alluded to above, on Wednesday, Kike took another significant step towards precisely that.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, the attacker was spotted back on the grass for the first in six months earlier today:

‘At 10:40 in the morning, the speedy winger jumped onto the grass of field 2 of Tajonar with a smile.’

Kike’s return to competitive action likely remains several weeks off yet, but his recovery is continuing to progress as well as could be hoped.
