The entourage of Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. recently sat down for a meeting with the representatives of one of Saudi football’s leading clubs.
That’s according to transfer insider Santi Aouna, who has on Friday provided an insight into the situation.
Wide-man Vinícius is for his part of course in the midst of what has proven a difficult week.
Overlooked despite being the long-time favourite to lift the Ballon d’Or, the Brazilian has been widely criticised for not attending the award ceremony.
Safe to say, then, that it will come as a source of interest, and potential concern, for those of a Real Madrid persuasion to learn that Vinícius’ representatives recently held a meeting over a potential departure from Spain’s capital.
As per a report from the aforementioned Santi Aouna:
‘In recent weeks, Saudi met with Vinicius Jr’s entourage in Madrid. They want him in 2026.’
A financial package labelled as nothing short of ‘crazy’ is said to be on the table for the 24-year-old, which would make him the highest-paid player in world football.
Not only that, but with the Saudi government leading the charge in a bid to place Vinícius at Al-Hilal, the player himself is said to have ‘opened the door’ to a move to the Middle East.
