One Real Madrid star played through the pain in Stuttgart clash

A key member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid played through the pain barrier during the club’s most recent outing.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Aurélien Tchouaméni as the player in question.

Deep-lying midfielder Tchouaméni, for his part, marked his return to the pitch on Tuesday night, after a spell on the sidelines with a foot injury.

En route to Real Madrid’s 3-1 Champions League downing of Stuttgart, however, the 24-year-old is understood to have been some way short of full fitness.

Amid the lack of options at the disposal of head coach Carlo Ancelotti in the middle of the park, Tchouaméni gritted his teeth, playing 70 minutes in the Spanish capital despite still suffering with considerable pain.

As per a report from Relevo:

‘He did not play at 100% against the Germans, with a limp in his left foot, a condition that forced him to leave the French national team training camp.’
