Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has on Tuesday moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents of Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé.
As much, of course, comes as Slot and co. prepare to play host to the Spanish champions on Wednesday night.
The headline fixture of the Champions League gameweek is set to play out at Anfield in a little over 24 hours’ time.
The aforementioned Mbappé, meanwhile, is expected to play a leading role in the clash, primed to feature from his favoured role on the left wing amid the injury-enforced absence of Vinícius Jr.
The Frenchman has of course endured something of a hit-and-miss start to life in Spain, oft singled out for criticism since penning terms with Carlo Ancelotti’s Blancos during the summer.
One individual of the opinion that Mbappé remains amongst the very best players the game has to offer, though, comes in the form of the aforementioned Arne Slot.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of hosting Real Madrid on Wednesday, Liverpool boss Slot assured:
“Kylian Mbappé? He has always shown his quality and is very hard to play against. He is one of the best players football has today.”
