Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is yet to be convinced of the readiness of one member of his squad to add a spark to his frontline in testing fixtures.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Ansu Fati as the player in question.
Wide-man Ansu was for his part afforded his latest chance to impress on Sunday, as Barcelona made the trip to Anoeta for a La Liga meeting with Real Sociedad.
With the Blaugrana trailing by a goal to nil, and toiling in their efforts to break down a resolute backline set out by Imanol, the 21-year-old was introduced midway through the 2nd-half.
Tasked with conjuring up a much-needed moment of individual quality in the final third, however, Ansu came up short.
The Spaniard showcased flashes of his potential once more, but failed to piece it all together to prove himself a real difference-maker.
And, as per the aforementioned Sport, in the process, Ansu’s stock fell yet further amongst the coaching staff in Catalunya’s capital:
‘Flick does not have the feeling for now that Fati is capable of changing the script of matches or offering something different to ‘break’ the real defences.’
