Barcelona star Iñigo Martínez could not hide his delight upon teammate Gavi marking his return to competitive action over the weekend.
Midfielder Gavi, of course, took his place front and centre in the headlines across all of Spanish football this past Sunday.
As much came after the 20-year-old, after a painful year on the sidelines with an ACL injury, stepped back onto the pitch late in Barcelona’s 5-1 victory over Sevilla.
The development gave rise to a raucous reception across Montjuïc, as well as on the Blaugrana bench.
As alluded to above, though, it is the reaction of one of those to have been on the pitch in the thick of the action upon Gavi marking his comeback which has today gone viral online.
This comes after footage surfaced of Iñigo Martínez celebrating his young teammate’s return as though Barca had just scored a goal.
As Gavi jogged his way onto the pitch, defender Iñigo was spotted lifting his two arms into the sky, amid delight for a player whom he is known to have played a key role in supporting during the most difficult stages of his injury recovery.
