Villarreal have this evening announced the signing of Spanish international striker Paco Alcácer for a reported €25m from Borussia Dortmund on a five-and-a-half-year deal.
The 26-year-old signs for Villarreal despite being recently linked with numerous clubs, including a move to former club Valencia. The transfer to the Yellow Submarine comes at an important time with EURO 2020 coming up.
The Spaniard scored 26 times in 47 appearances for Borussia Dortmund and at 26 is coming into his prime. Villarreal are currently five points off a Champions League, on a good run of form and will be hoping Alcácer will lead the line and provide the goals to mount a Champions League push in the second half of the season.
