La Liga outfit Villarreal have on Friday secured fresh reinforcements to the club’s defensive ranks.
This comes amid confirmation that the Yellow Submarine have tied up a deal for Paris Saint-Germain star Juan Bernat.
Bernat, for his part, has long been out of favour under the watch of PSG head coach Luis Enrique, who last season sanctioned a loan move for the 31-year-old to Portuguese giants Benfica.
With little having changed in the meantime when it comes to the left-back pecking order at the Parc des Princes, Villarreal, in turn, recently kickstarted negotiations, over a loan deal of their own for Bernat.
And, as alluded to above, on Friday, such talks have officially borne fruit.
As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:
‘Villarreal CF and PSG have reached an agreement for the loan of Juan Bernat, who will play for the Yellow Submarine during the 2024/25 season.’
