Official: Sevilla talent Isaac handed first-team berth

A highly-regarded up-and-coming member of the academy setup at Sevilla has today seen his recent goalscoring endeavours rewarded.

The player in question? Isaac Romero.

Isaac, for his part, is a 23-year-old centre-forward, who is also capable of lining out on either wing.

Since his arrival in Andalusia in 2019, the attacker has spent his time plying his trade between Sevilla’s youth setup, and reserve team.

And it is his efforts with the latter which, today, have culminated in Isaac achieving what has no doubt long represented his ultimate dream.

Owing to a haul of 11 goals and four assists in 15 appearances to date in 2023/24, the Lebrija native has been handed a permanent spot in Quique Sánchez Flores’s senior squad.

As per an official statement across Sevilla’s website and social media platforms:

“Sevilla Atlético striker, Isaac Romero, has been promoted to the first team squad, taking the number 20 shirt that has been made available by the departure of Fernando Reges.”

Though it is as of yet unclear whether or not he will be afforded a call-up, Isaac will be available for selection for Sevilla’s next outing – a La Liga meeting with Alavés on Friday night.
