Official | Sergio Ramos is leaving Real Madrid

Real Madrid confirmed on Wednesday night that Sergio Ramos will leave the club after 16 years.

The veteran defender’s contract with Los Blancos expires in two weeks and won’t be renewed as he looks for a move away from the Spanish capital.

Ramos joined Madrid from Sevilla in 2005, however, reports suggest that he will not return to his former club. PSG and Manchester City are among the next possible destinations for the 35-year-old centre-back.

Real Madrid’s official statement read:

Real Madrid C. F. announces that today, Thursday 17 June, at 12:30 p.m., an institutional act of tribute and farewell to our captain Sergio Ramos will be held, which will be attended by our president Florentino Pérez.

Sergio Ramos will then appear before the media in a virtual press conference.
