An often overlooked member of the starting XI at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Friday been named the club’s Player of the Month for March.
The player in question? Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Midfielder Tchouaméni has for his part enjoyed nothing short of a remarkable return to form over the course of recent weeks.
After struggling to the point of being regularly jeered by his own fans, the France international has spent the last couple of months rebuilding his confidence and form alike.
Tchouaméni once more looks the midfield giant who was brought in from AS Monaco, patrolling Carlo Ancelotti’s engine room with equal physical dominance and technical excellence.
The 24-year-old even managed to chip in with his first goal of the campaign earlier this week, a crucial finish en route to Real Madrid booking their spot in the finale of the Copa del Rey.
And as alluded to above, on Friday, such efforts on Tchouaméni’s part have been aptly recognised by the Blancos faithful.
As confirmed across social media, the Frenchman has beaten out stiff competition, to secure the Player of the Month award for March.
