Official: Real Madrid name squad for Atalanta clash, featuring 3 fresh faces

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Sunday unveiled the club’s upcoming showdown with Atalanta.

Carlo Ancelotti’s troops are of course primed to turn attentions back towards matters on the continent in midweek.

Fresh off a much-needed return to winning ways at Girona on Saturday night, Real are faced with the task of a trip to Italy, to take on the ever-dangerous Atalanta.

Amid a recent personnel crisis in Los Blancos’ ranks, all associated with the club will in turn no doubt be relieved to hear of two high-profile returnees featuring in the travelling squad bound for Bergamo.

The pair in question? Vinícius Jr, and Rodrygo.

Wide-man Vinícius was forced to sit out each of Real Madrid’s last four outings, owing to a muscular injury suffered against Leganés late last month.

Fellow countryman Rodrygo, meanwhile, was a late scratch from Los Merengues’ squad to take on Girona last night, owing to a minor issue of his own.

Both, though, have been included in Ancelotti’s squad to face Atalanta.

And so too has young full-back Youssef, who steps in to replace Ferland Mendy – injured en route to his side’s downing of Girona on Saturday.
