Official: Real Madrid announce latest first-team exit

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Friday announced a fresh departure from the club’s first-team ranks. The latest Blancos star to have departed Spain’s capital? Franco Mastantuono.

Youngster Mastantuono has of course been hotly tipped for a Real Madrid departure throughout the summer to date. Fresh off a difficult debut campaign in the colours of Los Merengues, the attacker was made aware that consistent minutes would be tough to come by at the Bernabéu over the coming 12 months.

Mastantuono and his entourage therefore spent recent weeks scouring the continent for a fitting landing spot for the duration of the 2026/27 season.

Serie A outfit Fiorentina, in the midst of an impressive summer recruitment drive to date, from here stepped forward with an enticing proposal to the Argentine.

And as alluded to above, on Friday, the Viola have officially beaten out the stiff competition for Mastantuono’s services. As per a statement across Real Madrid’s website and social media accounts:

‘Real Madrid C. F. and ACF Fiorentina have agreed on the loan of player Franco Mastantuono until the end of the next season, on June 30, 2027.’
