Official: Real Madrid announce fresh injury blow

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Friday announced a fresh injury setback in the club’s first-team ranks.

This comes amid confirmation that Eduardo Camavinga is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Midfielder Camavinga, for his part, was introduced off the bench last night, as Real Madrid locked horns with Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey.

En route to an eventual 5-2 extra-time triumph for Los Blancos, though, the Frenchman suffered a muscular injury.

As much was confirmed in a statement across Real Madrid’s website and social media platforms this morning, after Camavinga was put through a round of medical scans:

‘Following tests carried out today on Eduardo Camavinga by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his left hamstring. His recovery will be assessed.’

Though no timetable has been set for Camavinga’s return, he is certain to miss out against Las Palmas this weekend, likely to be sidelined for a minimum of a couple of weeks.
