As communicated on their official website, Chelsea have signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona.
It is believed that the Premier League side paid €12m in order to secure the services of the Gabonese striker, with Marcos Alonso moving in the other direction.
He signed a two-year contract with the club, which has the option to be extended by one more year depending on the amount of appearances made in previous seasons.
Aubameyang expressed his excitement to join Chelsea:
“I’m really happy. It’s an honour to be part of this team and I can’t wait to start. I have some unfinished business with the Premier League so it’s good to be back and really exciting.”
Aubameyang joined Barcelona from Arsenal in the winter transfer window of 2022. He scored 13 goals in 23 games for the Blaugrana in all competitions and helped the club finish in the Champions League places last season.
