Official | Marcelo joins Olympiacos

As announced on their official communication channels, Olympiacos have signed Marcelo.

Following the expiration of his contract with Real Madrid, the Brazilian full-back has been looking for a new club to sign for in Europe.

Throughout the summer he was linked with several teams, including Nice and Las Palmas. However, it was Olympiacos who won the race to sign Marcelo and the agreement was made official last night.

The 34-year-old signed contract with the club until June 2023, which can be extended by a further year.

Olympiacos will be Marcelo’s third club following Fluminense and Real Madrid. Having won 25 trophies with Los Blancos, including five Champions League titles, the Brazilian international is the club’s most decorated player.

Between 2007 and 2022, Marcelo made 546 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions and scored 38 goals.

Olympiacos have won the last three editions of the Greek Super League and are hoping to retain their title this season.
