Kays Ruiz is now officially a Barcelona player. The 18-year-old French-Moroccan attacker had been released at PSG after finishing his contract and has signed for three seasons at Camp Nou.
The former Barcelona academy player joins until 30 June 2024, according to the Catalan club. His buy-out clause is €50 million, which would rise to €100 million if he joins the first team squad.
Kays Ruiz comes from the same generation as Ansu Fati, arriving at Barcelona at the age of six in 2009, where he started playing in the club’s youth system until 2015, before joining PSG.
Rodrigo Messi, brother of Lionel, is believed to have been involved in the negotiations for the return of the player to the LaLiga giants. The signing took place this afternoon in the presence of club president Joan Laporta.
