Official | José Ramón Sandoval unveiled as new Granada head coach

Granada have confirmed the appointment of José Ramón Sandoval as new head coach, replacing Alexander Medina.

In a club statement, it was confirmed that the club have terminated the contract of Medina. The Uruguayan coach arrived in La Liga in November 2023, but jour four months later he has been relieved of his duties after failing to to achieve the expected results.

Just a few minutes later and the Nasrid club itself confirmed that they have made official the hiring of José Ramón Sandoval as the new coach, who they hope can salvage their season.

The Madrid coach led the red and white team previously between May 2015 and February 2016. Furthermore, he has coached other teams such as Rayo Vallecano, Sporting de Gijón, Córdoba CF or CF Fuenlabrada.

Granada are currently in 19th place, eight points behind Cadiz and 13 points behind Celta de Vigo. Almería, who have just one win all season, are currently on 13 points and right behind the Nasrid team. The aim for the new manager will be to pick up as many points as possible during the final stretch of the league campaign in order to avoid relegation.
