Chelsea have announced the signing of João Félix on loan from Atlético Madrid.
The Portuguese forward has left Atlético after three and a half seasons at the La Liga club and joins the Premier League side on loan until June in a deal worth €11m.
Atlético have made the agreement, which doesn’t include an option to buy, official, and also announced the player’s renewal for another season, until 2027.
“Atlético de Madrid and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the loan of João Félix until the end of the current season. The Portuguese striker has also extended his contract with our club for one more season, until June 2027,” Atlético wrote on their official website.
João Félix is the most expensive signing in the history of the club (€127m), and he scored 34 goals in the 131 games he has played for Los Colchoneros.
The Portugal international is the second player to leave the club in recent times after Matheus Cunha moved to Wolves in December.
