Valencia have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign Ilaix Moriba on loan until 30 June 2023.
Los Che announced the deal on Thursday afternoon. Moriba came through the youth ranks at FC Barcelona, before making his La Liga debut for the Blaugrana.
RP Leipzig signed the 19-year-old from Barcelona for a reported €16m in 2021 but he is now rejoining the Spanish side on loan, boosting Gennaro Gattuso’s midfield options for 2022-23.
His current deal with the Bundesliga side runs until 2026.
Valencia are also set to announce the signing of Justin Kluivert from AS Roma on transfer deadline day. The 23-year-old will join on loan with an option to buy.
Gattuso’s side have been linked with a move for Juan Mata but the former Manchester United player is unlikely to move back to his former club.
Real Betis are reportedly the side showing the most interest in Mata with just hours left for clubs to complete their last-minute transfers.
