Girona announced that the club have signed Miguel Gutiérrez from Real Madrid.
Los Blancos will receive 50% of the future sale of the defender and the deal also includes a buy-back option.
As it was communicated earlier this week, Girona have been monitoring Gutiérrez for months and they were finally able to secure his services permanently. The Spaniard signed a five-year-contract with the club, which is set to expire in June 2027.
Born in Madrid, the 21-year-old came through the Real Madrid youth system. With Ferland Mendy being the senior side’s first-choice left-back, Gutiérrez was unable to break into Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI. He only managed to make nine league appearances for the club over the past two years and he has been looking for a team that could provide him with more playing time.
Girona, which is part of the City Football Group, can guarantee Gutiérrez the opportunity to develop and progress his career.
