La Liga outfit Girona have on Thursday announced a fresh addition to the club’s ranks between the posts.
The player to have put pen to paper on terms with the Blanquivermells? Vladyslav Krapivtsov.
Krapivtsov, for his part, is a 19-year-old goalkeeper, who has long been considered a potential star in the making in his home country of Ukraine.
This past summer, the shot-stopper, out of the blue, became a free agent, after his employers at the time – SC Dnipro-1 – ceased operations as a sporting entity.
A whole host of clubs in turn quickly made their interest in Krapivtsov known, with Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea having been chief amongst them.
Issues with the administrative process in England, however, opened the door for rival suitors to position themeselves at the front of the queue.
And, as alluded to above, on Thursday, one such club have officially beaten out the competition to the youngster’s signing.
After Krapivtsov spent recent weeks training as part of a trial period in Catalunya, La Liga outfit Girona have announced the Ukrainian youth international’s arrival on a contract through 2029:
‘Goalkeeper Vladyslav Krapivtsov has become a new red and white player. Born in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv nineteen years ago, the young player – who arrives on a free contract – has signed for Girona until the summer of 2029.
‘Trained at SK Dnipro-1, Krapivtsov stands out for his great projection, technique, good ball control with his feet and ability to read the game. The new goalkeeper is an international with the Ukrainian U-21 team.’
