Official | Edinson Cavani joins Valencia

As it was communicated on their official website, Valencia have signed Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan has been looking for a La Liga team to play for since his departure from Manchester United last season and has been linked with several clubs in Spain. Los Che won the race to secure the services the 35-year-old, who was announced as a Valencia player right before their game against Atlético Madrid.

Cavani signed a two-year contract with Valencia and was welcomed by fans at the city’s airport.

The Uruguay international began his career at Danubio. He moved to Italy in 2007 where he played for Palermo and Napoli. In 2013 he joined Paris Saint-Germain, where he played seven seasons and became the club’s all-time top scorer. He then joined Manchester United in 2020, where he spent the last two seasons. He is also one of the most important players in the history of the Uruguay national team, with whom he won the Copa América.
