Granada have released a statement confirming that their first team head coach Diego Martínez will leave the club.
The club statement read:
“Granada CF coach Diego Martínez has informed the Club of his decision not to continue in charge of the team.
The Board of Directors have expressed to Diego Martínez their desire for him to continue at Granada CF and have put their all into achieving this, but respect the coach’s decision and thank him for his honesty.
Granada CF would also like to thank the coach and his entire coaching staff for their efforts, professionalism and successes throughout his time in charge of the team, which has taken the Club in three seasons from LaLiga SmartBank to a 7th and 9th place finish in LaLiga Santander, a Copa del Rey semi-final and the first European qualification in the Club’s history, reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League.
Diego Martínez’s name will be forever linked to this club and Granada CF is and will always be his home.
Thank you, coach.”
