Celta Vigo have announced that they have reached an agreement for Rafa Benítez to become their new head coach.
The Galician outfit released a statement on Friday.
“The Madrid-born coach has a wealth of experience in the dugout with a track record that is hard to match. Rafa Benítez has accumulated a total of 1099 matches at the highest level and in which he has obtained 549 victories, boasting a truly enviable record:
- Champions League
- LaLiga x2
- Europa League
- UEFA Cup
- European Super Cup
- Club World Cup
- Italian Super Cup x2
- FA Cup
- Community Shield
- Italian Cup
- EFL Championship
“Both parties are confident that the signing will take place in July to coincide with the start of pre-season.”
Benítez will replace former Celta boss Carlos Carvalhal in the dugout at Balaídos ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
