Official: Big names miss out as Barcelona name XI to face Eintracht Frankfurt

The XI of players called upon by Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick for the club’s meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt has been unveiled online.

And it features several alterations to the side which got the better of Celta Vigo in La Liga over the weekend.

Stepping back into the attacking midfield berth is Fermín López, meaning Roony Bardghji is forced to make do with a spot on the bench.

Up top, meanwhile, Ferran Torres is left out despite a weekend hat-trick, opening the door for Robert Lewandowski to lead the line.

Raphinha is also restored to a starting berth, meaning there is no room for Marcus Rashford.

Other noteworthy news comes in the middle of the park, where Frenkie de Jong, despite recovering fitness, is again left out.

Pedri is instead joined by the ever-present Eric García at the base of the Blaugrana’s engine room.
