Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has on Wednesday secured for himself a prestigious individual prize.
This comes in the form of the Golden Boy award.
The Golden Boy, for those not aware, is an accolade handed out on an annual basis, by ‘the best player under 21 years old that plays in any of the European top tier leagues’.
It is handed out by Italian outlet Tuttosport, and aims to recognise the game’s standout young talents.
Previous winners include the likes of Lionel Messi, Jude Bellingham, and Barcelona midfield pair Gavi and Pedri.
And, as alluded to above, on Wednesday, Lamine Yamal has been added to this list.
Wide-man Lamine is of course fresh off a breakout 12 months, which have seen the 17-year-old establish himself as a star at club and international level alike.
After scooping the Kopa Trophy at last month’s Ballon d’Or ceremony, Lamine, in turn, today followed up by being crowned Tuttosport’s ‘Golden Boy’.
