Official: Barcelona sign Hafiz Gariba

La Liga giants Barcelona have secured reinforcements to the club’s defensive ranks at youth level.

That’s according to Barca insider Toni Juanmartí, who points towards Hafiz Gariba as the player to have put pen to paper on terms in Catalunya’s capital.

Gariba, for his part, is an 18-year-old central defender, who has long been making waves in his home country of Ghana.

Whilst making his way through the Marcet School, the stopper turned heads with both his physical attributes, and defensive abilities.

Such traits piqued the attentions of a number of clubs in Spain, who made contact over potential deals for Gariba as a result.

The youngster always had his sights on one landing spot in particular, though, in the form of the aforementioned Barcelona.

The Catalans, in turn, recently made Gariba’s dreams come true, in bringing him in on a three-year contract, after the player turned 18.

The Ghanaian is now expected to link up with Barca’s Juvenil B side, with a view to working his way up through the club’s ranks over the months ahead.
